DTX UNCOVERED. THE POWER, THE POTENTIAL AND THE POSSIBILITIES REVEALED
Yamaha are pleased to announce a series of DTX events to take place at dealers nationwide throughout June and July to inspire the use of electronic percussion for practice, live or in the studio with performances and detailed demonstrations.

These events will be a unique opportunity to get to grips with the full potential of the latest DTX electronic drum kits including the flagship DTX900 series featuring the groundbreaking DTX-PAD. Constructed using the newly developed 'Textured Cellular Silicone Head’ technology which offers unprecedented dynamic control and feel for players. Led by Simon Edgoose, the Yamaha’s UK demonstrator for the DTX series, these intimate sessions are aimed to answer all questions and provide an overview of the full potential of the new DTX products along with some great performances and inspirational advice.

There are limited spaces available to ensure that the demonstrations are beneficial to everybody attending, for more information please contact your local participating dealer (list below) to book your place.

Along with being Yamaha’s DTX demonstrators, Simon Edgoose is a busy freelance drummer. STEVIE RIKS… AND THE STORY OF QUEEN
When you are an unsigned artist sometimes it’s great to receive a little bit of recognition and acknowledgement for your efforts. All the nights that you spent crammed into your band van or thrashing your car to within an inch of its life to get to your gig on time, the hours you spend practicing and honing your craft – often fitting music in around your day jobs, school or college – and the process of promoting your music without the support of the music industry machine behind you. We know it’s tough out there but we are always humbled and somewhat blown away by the sheer diversity and depth of music talent in the UK.

This year’s Playmusic Unsigned Awards were no exception and we stumbled across some truly stunning artists. Apologies to those that didn’t get picked this year, the general standard of entries was genuinely first class and picking the winners was a tough job; fortunately we had a useful pub we could adjourn to when it came to discussing the final votes, though!

ROTOSOUND SPONSORS GUTHRIE GOVAN AND ALEX HUTCHINGS MASTER CLASSES AT THE CHELTENHAM GUITAR FESTIVAL 2010
Rotosound is excited to announce two of their endorsees and exceptional guitarists, Guthrie Govan and Alex Hutchings are to host master classes at the forth coming Cheltenham Guitar Festival 2010.

Celebrated cult guitarist, Guthrie Govan, will play an exclusive and an open master class, and the extraordinary guitarist and highly gifted composer Alex Hutchings will be playing a jazz rock master class. Both artist appearances have been sponsored by the British based guitar, bass and acoustic string manufacturer Rotosound.

Guthrie Govan is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and dazzling guitarists to emerge in modern times. He is known for his virtuoso command of the electric guitar and his proficiency in various styles from out and out rock, to jazz-fusion and blues.

Alex Hutchings is described as an inspired guitarist, possessing an immaculate technique that places him in a different league to his contemporaries. His playing has an authenticity and passion that is often lacking in the modern approach.

The Cheltenham Guitar Festival is delivered by the International Guitar Foundation (IGF), an educational charity whose activities work to improve the life experience of thousands of everyday people. The Cheltenham Guitar Festival, previously the Bath Guitar Festival, is Europe’s biggest summer school and now in its eighteenth successful year. For 2010 it has moved to the stunning Park campus of the University of Gloucester in the beautiful spa town of Cheltenham. The festival runs from 26th July to 6th August 2010 and continues to have a fantastic line up of workshops, master classes and concerts presenting some off the best established and emerging guitarists in the world.
